Special Announcements

COVID 19 - UPDATE - The West Virginia PE Board encourages customers to use online services and email as much as possible. Our goal is to continue to provide the engineering community and the citizens of our great state continued services without interruption. Beginning Thursday, March 19, we will have 1 staff member working each day in the office and all others working remotely. Out of an abundance of caution, and in accordance with the most recent guidelines and best practices recommended by the Governor, the CDC and West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources regarding COVID-19, this action will reduce exposure to both customers and employees.
WV Legislative Rules Updated! - The WV PE Board is pleased to announce our Series 1 Legislative Rules (specifically 7-01 - Examination, Licensure and Practice of Professional Engineers) were filed and accepted by the WV Secretary of State and effective April 1, 2020. The new Rules are now available on the WV Code Of State Rules Search as well as here on our website under the WV Engineering Law link. The new rules include, but are not limited to, allowing for early taking of the PE exam via decoupling, low income and military fee waivers for initial licensure for qualifying applicants, a reduction or removal of some fees, specifically COA reinstatement fees and PE exam retake fees, etc.
